The Tate family name was originally Teti; we come from the town of Torricella Peligina in the Chieti province in the Abruzzi region of Italy, about 145 miles east of Rome. Our grandfather always said the Abruzzse were the purest Italians, because the conquering armies could never get to their women since they hid high in the mountains! Our grandmother was from the Calabria region of Italy; it was her recipes that inspired a love for food and cooking in our father. Her recipes became his, and now we serve them to you. Barb & Skip have since passed away, but his delicious recipes and methods are still used daily here at Luigi’s to bring you a taste of traditional Italy.
We offer two brick-and-mortar locations in Clymer, Luigi’s Ristorante and Luigi’s Pizzeria, that still serve the mouthwatering, handcrafted dishes crafted from recipes passed down to us by our grandparents.
We also have two sister locations in DuBois: Luigi’s Ristorante and Banquet Center and The Villa. The Villa is our catering venue, while Luigi’s Ristorante and Banquet Center offers Dine-In, Family Style Take-Out, In-House Banquest Parties, and Catering for any event.
With the next generation of the Tate family entering ownership positions of Luigi’s, we strive to keep our service and Italian flavor up to standard as we continue to serve our loyal customers throughout the greater region.
